Gary Floyd

Gary Lynn Floyd, 79, of Quinlan, Texas passed away Monday, September 13, 2021. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at Quinlan Funeral Home. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 17 at Vansickle Baptist Church in Greenville, with Bro. Roger Ratliffe officiating. Interment to follow at Greenview Cemetery in Hopkins County with Randy Murphy, Todd Parmer, Chris Ealey, Patrick Stampley, Kevin Dixon, and John Watson serving as pallbearers.

Gary was born July 23, 1942 in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces for six years during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; son Rick and wife Ali Floyd and their two sons; daughter Michelle Papke and her four children and six grandchildren; daughter Lisa and husband William Deacon and their two daughters and one grandson; daughter Kristi Hammond and husband Bill Becker and their two daughters and one grandchild; daughter Kelly Hunt and her two children and one grandson; daughter Abby Floyd and boyfriend Colton Howell; brother, John Floyd; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who adored, loved and thought of Gary as their Papaw.

He was preceded in death by his father J.P. and stepmother Ruby Floyd; stepdad Bill and mother Dorathy Merlin; son Michael Floyd and stepson Jeffrey Rudd.
