Valerie Posey Johnson went home to be with Jesus on July 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Val's legacy of love and faith lives on through her devoted husband, Shane Johnson, and children, Dixie Rose and Rhett Sawyer. She is survived by her father, Virgil Posey Sr. and siblings, Virgil Posey Jr. and Veronica Posey, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her family was her absolute world, and she poured her heart, soul, and endless love into filling her home with faith and joy. Getting a prayer from Val was like getting a warm hug. She was a gifted storyteller who loved to chat; though her stories were often legendary for being just a little too long, no one ever minded because her company was such a gift. Val also had a deep love for animals, finding great joy in caring for her pets, especially her crazy chickens.

Val’s life was defined by her unwavering, Bible-believing faith. Through every season of life, her trust in God never wavered, and she never gave up fighting. She faced every challenge with grace, strength, and a spirit anchored in her favorite scripture: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13

While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Val is now fully healed, resting in the perfect peace of Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her cherished momma, Tammy Posey, and her grandparents, Joe and Nadine Clark.
