Scott Allen Brown

January 19, 1948 — April 6, 2026

Point

Scott Allen Brown, of Point Texas, passed on April 6th, 2026 at the age of 78.

Scott is survived by his wife, Marsha Kay, and his daughter, Lea Dukes (Steven). He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pauline Brown.

Scott was born on January 19, 1948, in Houston, Texas. His birth parents were unable to care for him, and at the age of two, living in Hamlin, Texas, he was taken in and eventually adopted by Carl and Pauline Brown. He led a charmed childhood and was adored by his parents. He was a proud Hamlin Pied Piper and maintained close friendships with those he grew up with for the remainder of his life. Following his years in Hamlin, he attended McMurray University and the University of North Texas where he obtained a degree in Psychology.

Scott met Marsha Kay Davis while the two were both working together. He wrote a letter to his parents that day telling them he had met the girl he wanted to marry. They married on April 3, 1971, and had 55 happy years together. They were truly best of friends and adored each other. In 1973, they had their only daughter, Lea. Scott was the girl-dad every girl deserves. Above all things, he made sure “his girls” knew how loved they were and sacrificed for them in every way possible. They built a beautiful life together in Hurst, Texas accompanied by a myriad of pets, most importantly, Scott’s “soul dog” of 15 years, Gus.

Scott was a gentle soul who was never without a smile. He was a jack of all trades who could fix/alter/build/configure anything. He always had a long, funny story and was often the butt of his own jokes. He loved shooting, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing tennis, and he survived DECADES of church softball leagues. Music and singing were a passion, and he used his beautiful baritone to lead worship in the congregations he attended for many years. In his late fifties, he took his first mission trip to Guatemala and was so touched by this experience that he returned multiple times to both Guatemala and Honduras to serve God by serving the poor. He was a man of faith who lived it in everything he did. Of all his gifts, his ability to build and maintain friendships was one of his greatest legacies. If you were loved by Scott Brown, you knew it. He would be there for you in the highs and lows, and that love never wavered. He will be dearly missed.
