Funeral service for Sam Lytton Means, age 78, of Wills Point will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 12 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Chaplain Scott Mabry officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Quinlan Funeral Home. Mr. Means passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Terrell.

Sam was born on April 25, 1944 in Houston, Texas to James Harling and Doris Earle (Puett) Means. He married Sharon Tackett, who preceded him in death. Sam served his country with the United States Marine Corps, fighting in Vietnam. Following his military service, Sam worked as a paint director for SST Trucking before finally retiring. In his free time, Sam enjoyed exercising, football, and building quarter mile race cars.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Briana Means Roberts; grandchildren, Colby Cayne Roberts, Carly JB Roberts, Corbin Lee Roberts, Caley Audrey Roberts; son-in-law, Corey Lee Roberts; mother-in-law, Laura Faye Tackett; and sister, Barbara Means Stanley.
