Roy Lee Henderson, a lifelong mechanic and resident of West Tawakoni, Texas, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 80.
Roy was born on April 10, 1945, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to Roy and Ozella Henderson. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Army, where he proudly served for seven years, including service during the Vietnam War.
On December 13, 1966, at the age of 21, Roy married the love of his life, Janice Eikenbary. Together they shared 59 years of marriage and raised a loving family.
Roy spent most of his adult life as a mechanic and was widely known for his skill and dedication. People would drive miles just to have him work on their vehicles. He had a deep love for classic cars and enjoyed drag racing, wheeling and dealing, and anything that involved engines and horsepower.
Roy is survived by his sister, Linda Dehart; his children, Royce Henderson, Billy Henderson, Mickey Henderson, Teresa Hobbs, Leslie Dixon, Tina Parrent, and Rhonda Thomas; as well as multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Henderson; his mother, Ozella Young; his fathers, Roy Monroe Henderson and William Young; and his brother, Mickey Monroe Henderson.
