Rev. Letha Jumper, 85, of Quinlan, passed away March 27, 2012 in Greenville. She was born August 26, 1926 in Hunt County, the daughter of Dexter Clint and Florence Elizabeth (Hembree) Jumper. She surrendered her life to the ministry and began preaching and ministering at the age of 19 to people in the Quinlan area. She also obtained BS and Divinity Degrees of higher education and became a school teacher for the Dallas Independent School District. She also worked for Hunt County in the courthouse working in the County Tax Office and for a county judge. She was of the Assembly of God Full Gospel Faith. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Robinson of Irving and brother, Huey Bo Jumper of Quinlan and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in her death by her parents; four sisters, Thresa Reed, Tincie Pathing, Flossie Elizabeth Thomas, and Wanda Lou Brown; one brother, Clifford Jumper; and a special niece, Ashley Anderson. Her funeral service will be Friday, March 30, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Quinlan Funeral Home with Brother David Hammond officiating. Her burial will follow the service in the Quinlan West Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family is planned for Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 8 pm at Quinlan Funeral Home.
