Rebecca Sue Barbee-Coon

Rebecca “Becky” Barbee‑Coon, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on January 17 at the age of 75.

Becky is survived by her children, James and Suzanne Coon; her grandchildren, Sean, Aiden, Jacob, Alyssa, Kaylee, Alise, Khloe, and McKenna; and her brother, Rod Barbee, along with his children and grandchildren.

Born on July 23 in New Boston, Texas, Becky was the daughter of Mary and Herb Barbee. She attended the University of Texas, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. Throughout her career, she worked in a wide range of nursing specialties, including Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care, Labor and Delivery, and Emergency Nursing. Of all her roles, she found the greatest joy in caring for children.

In addition to her nursing career, Becky was a massage therapist and a master gardener. She embraced life with a fun‑loving spirit and a gift for bringing laughter to those around her. In her later years, she found great comfort spending time with her sister Sarah, who preceded her in death by only a few months.

Becky will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at IOOF Cemetery in Quinlan, Texas.
