Patricia Joyce Schutter

Patricia Joyce Moffitt Schutter, age 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 21, 1947, in Greenville, Texas, she was the daughter of Clarence Wilford Moffitt and Iva-Lou Waterman Moffitt.

Patricia was a proud alumna of the University of Texas in Dallas, where she earned her degree in 1995, an accomplishment she achieved after her own sons had completed their schooling. She dedicated 30 years to a fulfilling career in Occupational Therapy, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to helping others.

On September 30, 1966, she married Evert Schutter, Jr., and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. A lifelong Christian, Patricia was an active member of her church, where she cherished singing and serving the community. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, cooking, canning, crocheting, needlework, and quilting, each a testament to her meticulous and artistic spirit.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Iva Lou  Moffitt, and her sister, Cathy. She is survived by her beloved husband, Evert Schutter Jr.; her sons, Eddie, William, and Gary Schutter; her sister, Betty Gail Moffitt Schutter; her brothers, David and Mark Moffitt; her eight nieces and four nephews; and her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Schutter Mascorro, Stephen, Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Rachel, Sarah, Matthew, Seth, Hannah, Joanna, Caleb, Jarrod, Erin Schutter, and Dillon Wilkes. Her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Schutter, Gideon and Sophia Mascorro, Jameson and Harley Schutter, Wyatt Edlund, Tansley and Alexander Wilkes, also survive her.

Services to honor Patricia's life will be held on May 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Quinlan, TX, with interment to follow at the IOOF cemetery in Quinlan, Texas. Visitation will take place one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her spirit of generosity and community.

Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and enduring faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
