Oma Johson

Oma Phillips Johnson, 79, of West Tawakoni passed away on April 16, 2019 in Carrollton. Oma was born on August 14, 1939 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Troy Oma Phillips and Esther Fay (Burkhem) Phillips. She married Billy Wayne Johnson on May 25, 1959 in Dallas. She worked for the Quinlan Independent School District food service for many years before she retired.

Oma is preceded in death by her parents, Troy Phillips and Fay Grider; and three brothers, Larry David Phillips, Gary Don Phillips, and Danny Lee Phillips.

Her family members who are cherishing the memories of her life are her children, Jennifer McAteer, Richard Johnson and his wife Mary, and Julie Covington and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Tristan McAteer, Trinity Moffett, Teisha Johnson, Ashley Klumb, Derek Covington, and Tyler Covington; great grandchildren, Abby Johnson, Bradley Klumb, Mason Klumb, Brooklyn Covington, Taryn Covington, Cailah Covington, and Steven Covington; four sisters, Barbara McMichael, Laura Robinson, Marilyn Wilcoxon, and Donna Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on May 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Oasis Church in Caddo Mills.
