Nowana York Dodson

Nowana York Dodson of Mesquite passed away on November 15, 2023 at 3:40 A.M. She was 94 years old.

Nowana was born August 4, 1929 in Point, Texas to James William and Lillie Mae Freiley York. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Myrtle Springs, Texas. She was a wife and mother for many years, and spent 23 years in food service in the Forney and Canton School Districts before retiring.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kay Dodson of Mansfield, and Paul and Susan Dodson of Joshua; daughters and son-in-law, Deleta and Robert Hathaway of Mesquite, and Pam Dunworth of Mesquite; brother, Billy Gene York of Weatherford; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, six brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral service for Nowana will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
