Lou Ann Kuhn, a loving sister, devoted wife and mother, proud grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026 at home in Quinlan, Texas at the age of 88.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Lou is survived by her son James Kuhn and his wife Annette, two daughters, Cindy McElroy and husband Randy, Sherry Salter and her husband Rick, two sisters, Wanda Alkire, Kay Strong and husband Danny. She is proud to have eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her sister Jeanien Shearer, her brother Ronal Vanginault, and parents Henry and Ina Vanginault.
Lou was born on February 23, 1937 in Reilly Springs, Texas to Henry and Ina Vanginault. After moving to Lubbock, Texas, Lou married Kenneth Kuhn and moved to Roswell, New Mexico. Later they moved back to Reilly Springs and then settled in Quinlan, Texas in the late 1960s. For many years Lou and Ken owned and operated Lou’s Ceramics in Downtown Quinlan until Ken passed away. She then worked for the Quinlan Independent School District where after many years, she retired. She was a loving Christian and long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Quinlan.
Lou will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM followed by the funeral services on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Quinlan Funeral Home
