Kalind Myles “Cowboy” Freeman, aged 19 of Logan, Ohio, formerly of Quinlan, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Born August 30, 2006, he was the son of Albert Oren Freeman of Logan, Ohio and Whittney Charisse (Wells) Williams of Royse City, Texas.
Kalind worked as a welder for Westerman, Inc. during life. He was a graduate of Logan High School. He was a devout member of Tree Church in Logan and participated in Tree Church’s Connection Groups. Some of his favorite activities included singing, playing his guitar, building Legos with his Dad, spending time with his girlfriend, Grace, and using his natural ingenuity when working with his hands. Kalind loved God, loved his family, and loved life. His exuberance and love for those around him was magnetic and contagious, and he will be dearly missed by those who had the fortune of meeting him.
Kalind is survived by his mother, Whittney Williams and step-father, Edwin Williams; and father, Albert Freeman. On his mother's side, survivors include his grandmother, Darleen Hutto; uncles, Kyle Wells, Dane Kapler; Aunt, Teresa Wells; cousin, Lindsey Burns; and first cousin once removed, Phoenix Burns. On his father's side, Kalind is survived by his grandmother, Bertha; uncle Tom and his wife Betty; aunt Trina, brother Austin; brother Cody and his wife Jacquelyn, nephew Brody; sister Lisa; cousin Celia; cousin Diego; cousin Tanner; cousin Ryder and his wife Mariah, plus Levi, Henry, and Arthur; cousin Hunter with his wife Allie plus Ava Jo; cousin Jacob; and his beloved dog, Jade.
Kalind was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gyle Wells, Oren Freeman, and Linda Wells.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Quinlan Funeral Home with Greg Bradford officiating. Visitation will occur one hour prior at Quinlan Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
