James Lee Haskins

James Lee Haskins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on August 15, 1951, to George and Janie Haskins.

James was a proud graduate of W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas. He dedicated much of his life to a career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession he took great pride in. Throughout his years on the road, James achieved the remarkable milestone of driving over one million miles, a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment.

James proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. For his bravery and service, he was honored as a recipient of the Purple Heart. His patriotism and love for his country remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Family was the greatest joy in James’ life. Among his proudest moments were the births of his son, James Glen Haskins, and his daughter, Dorothy Marie Haskins-Davis. He cherished the time spent with his loved ones and created lasting memories with his family throughout the years.

In his free time, James enjoyed watching sports and cheering on his favorite teams. He will be remembered for his dedication, strength, loyalty, and the love he showed to those closest to him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Charldean “Lynn” Haskins; son, James Glen Haskins; daughter, Dorothy Marie Haskins-Davis; step-sons, Henry Williams, Michael Williams, and Charles Williams; step-daughter, Heather Hughes; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Janie Haskins; his brother, Wesley Haskins; and his uncle, Bobby Bynum.

James Lee Haskins leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
