Ila Mae Rice, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Ila was a devoted wife for many years and has now reunited with her late husband, Marvin “Dick” Rice.

Ila was born on October 21, 1930, to Wesley and Gladys Thomason. She was the youngest of her three siblings. Ila graduated from Greenville High School in 1948. She later moved to Quinlan, after her and Dick married on December 23, 1955. Ila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her most cherished title, was being called Mawmaw. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Her and Dick would enjoy hosting family events at their home. Mawmaw loved having her family over every Sunday for lunch. Her dedication to her family was unwavering and brought her much joy.

Ila is survived by her daughter, Denise Webb and Jimmy, her grandson and his wife, Kyle and Amber Rice; great-grandchildren, Ryley Blankenship, Jackson Rice, and Maisyn Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Rice; son, James Rice; daughter-in-law, Pam Rice; grandson, Cody Blankenship; and her siblings. 

Graveside service for Ila will be held at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held at Quinlan Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10:00 am.
