George Robert Stovall

George Robert Stovall, a retired banking loan officer and resident of Union Valley, Texas, passed on July 10, 2026 at the age of 89.

George is survived by his daughter Kimberly Sue Kenney and husband Gary, his son Robert Matthew Stovall, and his grandchildren Bradley Kenney and his wife Jessica, Lacy Munden and her husband Dreyton, and Clay Kenney. He adored his great grandchildren Ben, Mia, Hudson and Emma. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Stout Stovall, his brothers Thomas (Tommy) Stovall and Curtis Stovall, and his sister Wanda Stovall Smith.

George was born on June 20, 1937 in Rockwall, Texas to Thomas Dillon Stovall and Sallie Idora Westmoreland Stovall. He graduated from Forney High School and Served in the US Naval Air Force Reserve based in Honolulu, Hawaii. His squadron flew between Hawaii, Midway Island, and Anchorage Alaska and was a highlight of his life that he spoke of often.

He married Carolyn Sue Stout on March 3, 1961 at East Grand Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, steps away from where he was a caddy at Tenison Park Golf Course as a teenager. Together, they had two children, Kim and Robert, born nine years apart who were his pride and joy. There were several fur baby family members over the years that travelled with George and Carolyn on their cross country RV trips in their retirement.

George's humor and compassion will be missed by all who knew him.

His funeral will be held from 2pm-3pm on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Quinlan Funeral Home, 8930 TX-34, Quinlan, TX 75474.
