Ernest Glynn McCasland, 64, of Quinlan, Texas, took his last breath holding his daughters hand and listening to one of his favorite songs (Sittin on The Doc of the Bay, by Otis Redding) surrounded by the ones he loved dearly on October 21, 2012, in Sunnyvale, Texas. Ernest was born October 6, 1948 to Ernest Olen and Mildred Jane McCasland in Dallas, Texas where he grew up and graduated from Spruce High School before settling in Quinlan Texas. He worked very hard as a Carpet Contractor for more than 35 years until he was forced to give up the career he loved so much due to a sudden illness. He was a simple man that loved dogs, collecting movies, enjoyed working on anything that needed it and having a cold Budweiser with friends. Ernest had 5 beautiful girls and 6 sweet grandchildren that he loved dearly. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Olen and Mildred Jane McCasland, his grandparent Babe, Nora and Fletcher McCasland. Those left to celebrate his life included his daughters, Reba McCasland-Walker and her husband Travis, Brandie McCasland, Melissa McCasland, Johnny Diane and Devon Ann; grandchildren, Rico Simmons, Shauntel Simmons, Shyanne McCasland, Joshua McCasland, Rainie Kirby and Sara Beth Walker; sister, Barbara Moore; as well as other extended family and friends. A graveside Memorial Service will be held honoring Ernest on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royse City Cemetery in Royse City, Texas.
