Due Wane Meazell

August 19, 1965 — March 20, 2026

West Tawakoni

Due Wane Meazell, Jr., age 60, of West Tawakoni, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 in Greenville, Texas. He was born August 19, 1965 in Dallas to Pete Meazell and Peggy Herron. He is survived by his family, whom he loved dearly: his wife Clara, and sons Lalo, Oscar, and Gabriel. He consistently put them first.

Due Wane loved fishing and hunting, and he was a fantastic cook. He would always tear it up on the grill, and he loved his barbecue, but he was a very picky eater. His favorites were steak and crab, and he despised most creamy foods. He never ate leftovers—the only exception being pizza.

He obsessed over such movies as Tombstone, Gladiator, Braveheart, and the Matrix series. He was also in love with the minions from the Despicable Me movies. He enjoyed playing Xbox with his sons when the opportunity expressed itself. Due Wane bonded with his boys over manual labor.

He loved music, particularly classic country and classic rock. Due Wane spent many nights bonding with his son Gabriel over music, and he is the biggest reason for his son’s love of music. Due Wane is the inspiration behind his son’s goal of pursuing his dreams of being an artist.

He never wore any accessories other than he hats. He always stuck to the Dallas Cowboys, no matter how trash they were. For the last couple of years, Due Wane enjoyed watching UFC events with his son Gabriel and his friends

He was always making those around him laugh. He was one of the funniest people you could meet—unless you cut him off on the road. One of his favorite sayings was “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.”
