Doreen W. Reynolds, 85, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, on March 15, 1941, Doreen was the daughter of Martha and Richard Watson, both of whom preceded her in death. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. She earned her degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University, launching a distinguished career that spanned decades.

Doreen served as the Director of Perioperative Surgery at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where she was known for her strong leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care. Her contributions were so meaningful that a scholarship was established in her honor to support Parkland employees advancing their education—an enduring testament to her impact and legacy.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Doreen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She found her greatest joy in her family and treasured every moment spent with them.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, JD Reynolds and wife Debbie Reynolds, Laura Gutierrez, and Adrian Reynolds and wife Deborah Reynolds; her grandchildren, Austin Reynolds and Melissa Payne, Colton Reynolds, Parris Slatton, London Yancy, Sydney Bunten; and her great-grandchildren, Warren Reynolds, Tynlee Yancy, Skyleigh Jackson, Jaxson Slatton and Sandi Bunten.

Doreen is also survived by her loving sisters, Kay Smith and Lois Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Richard Watson; her siblings, Terry Watson, Kathy Farmer, Richard Watson, and Raymond Watson; and her beloved grandson, Jeffrey Reynolds.

Doreen will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and quiet strength. Her life was one of service, love, and dedication, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched as a nurse, leader, mentor, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—a legacy of compassion, strength, and service that will endure for generations to come.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

A funeral service for Doreen will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Quinlan Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior at Quinlan Funeral Home. Interment will occur following the service at Lakeside Memorial Park.
