Deryl Lynn Preston

Deryl Lynn Preston, a Craftsman and a resident of Quinlan, passed on May 31, 2026 at 72 years of age.

Deryl was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Preston, and mother, Doris Thomas; sister, Edith Preston; and nephews, Danny Hooten and Billy Joe Brown,

He is survived by his sisters, Veda Cleveland and Sherry Preston; brother, Doug Preston; and many other nieces and nephews.

Deryl was born on August 30, 1953 in Willington, Texas. He attended South Garland High School. He was an avid baseball player. He worked as a carpenter for over fifty years.

Deryl was joined together with his love, Diana Hernandez, on February 25, 1994, and they were together for over 32 years. They had four children together: Christopher Preston, Traci Garrison, Trina Campbell, and Kelly Schneider, along with their spouses. They also had their bonus children: Chance Singleton, Tisha Lightfoot, Mary Powell, Christopher Springman, and their spouses; eleven grandkids, Jason, Ashlynn, & Brendon Preston, Austin & Savannah Garrison, Logan Lightfoot, Ryleigh & Ryder Singelton, Aria & Scarlett Powell, Anya Campbell, and Maverick Springman; and many nieces and nephews.

Deryl was a member of the TMFC Racing Team for 29 years. He really enjoyed spending time with family and doing all activities with his grandkids. He really enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Deryl's Celebration of Life will be on July 4th, 2026 at his and Diana's property in Quinlan, TX.
