Chesta Darlene (Dilts) Duke, 81, of Quinlan, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2019 in Dallas. Darlene was born in Marion, Indiana on March 8, 1937, the daughter of Chester Edward and Pauline Marie (Vice) Dilts. Darlene was a Child Care Worker, a foster parent for Hunt County for 13 years, fostering over 39 children and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of CrossPoint Church of Quinlan. Darlene married Edgar Wayne Duke I on February 7, 1958 in Dallas, Texas.
Those left to cherish Darlene’s memory are her children, Chesta Waine Peters and husband Stephen of Gun Barrel City, Edgar Wayne Duke II and wife Anita of Quinlan, Jacqueline Lynn Mixson and husband Timothy of Quinlan. Sandra Dee Wilson and husband Brian of Greenville; grandchildren, V.C. Halbrook, Timothy Mixson, Toby Mixson, Tiana Lozano and husband James, Cassie Wilson, Shelby Wilson; great-grandchildren, Nadli, Trenton, Nevaeh Mixson, Samuel Mixson, Christina Lozano; foster children, Jessica Evans, Paula Evans; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her; husband, Edgar Wayne Duke I of 45 years; parents, Chester and Pauline Dilts; and brother, Terrell Dilts.
Visitation with Darlene’s family will be at Quinlan Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Hammond officiating. Interment will be held at Restland Cemetery in Dallas at 2:00 pm.
