Billy Dean Newton lived a life built on quiet strength, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. Born on June 26, 1942, in Paris, Texas, to Oscar Newton and Melva Newton, Billy grew up with dirt on his hands and purpose in his heart. His early years were spent on the family farm, where he learned the value of perseverance, loyalty, and a job well done.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army, and after his time in uniform, he hit the road as a professional truck driver. Over the years, he logged more than a million miles behind the wheel—a milestone that earned him a place in the prestigious Million Mile Club. He loved the rhythm of the open road, the solitude of long drives, and the satisfaction of doing his work with care and consistency.
Outside of work, Billy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working on hot rods, casting a fishing line on a quiet afternoon, and knocking down pins at the bowling alley. But more than anything else, he loved his family. His children, grandchildren, and extended loved ones were his world, and he never missed a chance to show up for them—with his hands, his heart, or just his steady presence.
He is survived by his son, Billy Dean Newton Jr.; his brothers, Charles Newton, Stevey Newton, and Jerry Newton; and his grandchildren, Ricky Levens, Nikki Newton, Dillon Newton, and Billy Newton Jr III. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and dear friends who will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Newton and Melva Thompson; his beloved daughter, Marsha Levens; and by two loving wives—Sandra Newton, his wife of 30 years, and Ricky Newton, who passed in 2022.
Billy passed peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Plano, Texas, just three days before his 83rd birthday. His life was a testament to quiet devotion, meaningful work, and deep love for those he held close. He will be remembered for his calm strength, kind heart, and the legacy he leaves in the lives of those who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
