Billie Jean Short passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in McKinney. She was born in Desert, Texas on February 19, 1932 the daughter of Bennie Earl and Pauline Goodwin Chesser. She retired from Blue Ridge ISD after serving many years as a cafeteria supervisor and bus driver. Billie was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish Billie's memories are her daughters, Paula Hughes, Dian Kee, Lori Short, Denise Samuels (Michael), and Elisa Kruger (Tim); son, Glendon Short (Kim); grandchildren, Curtis Elder, Amber Cowan, Bill Hughes, Brandi Hughes, Cody Samuels, Brandon Short, Tess Montgomery, and Holden Short; great-grandchildren, Sydney Elder, Kensley Short, and Hank Hughes; and sister, Sharon Fleming.
Billie Jean was happiest when she was taking care of others. She loved her family and friends. She was very creative; whether sewing, painting ceramics, or making porcelain dolls. She could cook with the best of them. And last but not least her motto was.... "Always eat dessert first"
