Betty McDonald

March 28, 1938 — September 20, 2020

Betty Lorena McDonald, 82, of Point, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Greenville. Betty was born on March 26, 1938 in Point, Texas to Marvin Dennis McDonald and Myrtle (Fore) McDonald. She was their fourth child of six children and their only daughter, and the family called her “Sister” or “Sis.” Her brothers are Joe Denton McDonald, Damon Dale McDonald, Johnnie Walter McDonald, the late Marvin Russell McDonald and Hubert Dennis McDonald.

Betty graduated from Mesquite High School and then, with the help of a lifelong friend Rita, she trained and obtained her license from the State of Texas to be a hairdresser. During that time, she was married to Don Tindle and lived in Maybank, Texas. Upon the death of Don, Betty relocated herself to a residence shared by two of her brothers, Russell and Hubert.

She loved to take vacation trips with her cousin Rita and loved her family being all together for the holidays.

Betty is survived by her son, Kelly Blankenship and his wife Stacey; grandchildren, Madison and Mason; brothers, Joe, Damon, Johnnie, and Hubert.
