Anna Flora Stapleton, a beloved member of Lone Oak, Texas, and longtime deli manager, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 83.
Anna was born on July 1, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Cleo and Walter Walsh. She grew up with a strong sense of family and faith, qualities that stayed with her throughout her life. She moved to Indiana as a young woman, where she put down roots, raised her children, and became a cherished member of the community.
Anna dedicated many years as a deli manager, where her friendly smile and kind heart brightened the days of countless customers and co-workers alike. She was known not just for her hard work but also for the way she treated everyone like family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. A great mom and wife, Anna poured love and care into her family and home. She was also deeply dedicated to her church family, participating in services and events that reflected her unwavering faith. In her free time, she loved taking long walks through her neighborhood, enjoying the fresh air and simple beauty of each day. She also cherished playing cards with her friends, laughing and sharing stories late into the evening.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hewitt and Monica Houk, Son, James Walsh, and her sister, Ruby Cooley. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Walter Walsh, and her husband, Paul Stapleton.
Her warm presence, steadfast love, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service to honor Anna’s life will be held at her home church, First Assembly of God, in Lone Oak, Texas on Friday July 10,2025 at 2:00 in the afternoon.
