Anna Dickens

April 2, 1959 — January 10, 2026

Winnsboro

Anna Dickens passed away peacefully at her home on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Anna was born on April 2, 1959, in Hereford, Texas to the late Ray and Jackie Drake. She spent most of her life in Winnsboro, Texas, where she attended school and built deep roots in the community. During her school years, Anna had a love for drama and theater, a passion that reflected her vibrant and expressive spirit.

On April 17, 1978, Anna married the love of her life, Jimmy Dickens. Together they shared a life centered on family, hard work, and love.

Anna devoted much of her life to public service through her work as a cook. Many in the community knew her through the restaurants where she worked, including Lou's Country Inn, Kay's, and Purley Gates Retreat. Cooking was Anna's love language--she expressed care by making sure everyone around her was fed and felt welcome. No one ever left her table hungry.

Outside of the kitchen, Anna enjoyed family time, reading, and playing games. For a time in her life, she embraced the adventurous side as a dirt track race car driver, loving the adrenaline and excitement of the track.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Jackie Drake; her sister, Wanda Baugh; and her beloved grandson, Jaxon Dickens.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Snow and husband Mike Davis; her son, Jeramie Dickens and wife Tanaya; daughter, Marina Dickens; her stepmother, Patsy Drake; her sisters, Tarry Drake, Belinda & Barbara Deishler, Tommy Bass and her brother, Johnny Drake and wife Darla; grandchildren Jagger & Jayde Dickens, Jaxon Poole, Karlee & Carson Davis, Kaiden Fry and Julian Hearn; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Anna will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and treasured "Nana." Her strength, warmth, and generous heart will live on in the lives she touched.
